GLOBEIR3D Digital Sand Model
Step 5 · Fire Planning

Ballistic Trajectory Simulation

Solve fire missions on the real terrain — terrain-aware, MET-corrected, and dispersion-ready. Every planned target is checked for range, charge, time of flight, and crest clearance at the planning table, not on the gun line.

GLOBEIR 3D simulates projectile trajectories with real physics over the AOR's elevation model. The four-panel display puts up to four weapons against the same target side by side, so the planner picks the best balance of reach, accuracy, and clearance from friendly troops in under a minute.

Planning-table outcomes

Pre-mission fire training

Out-of-range or unsafe targets are identified and reassigned before the operation — at the table, not on the gun line.

Preventing friendly fire

If a trajectory clips a ridge holding own troops, the tool flags a terrain impact instead of a hit. The planner switches weapon, charge, or angle before any round is fired.

Counter-battery analysis

Place the launcher at the suspected enemy site and the target on the actual impact point; the tool returns the angle and charge the enemy must have used.
